Google Voice for Google Workspace... these two words may have sounded like just the first words of a Sci-Fi movie, but they're actually related. When you use voice applications such as Google Voice for Gmail or Google Home, you are using an internet-based telephone system that is very similar to those used by telemarketers. And just like a telemarketing call, your call will be recorded and sent to a specific destination. Google Voice account for Google Workspace works in a similar manner, except it doesn't involve waiting on hold or dealing with annoying telemarketers.
You probably won't need Google Voice for Workspace if you only want one-on-one or cheap international calls. If you're making sales calls or any other high-volume business calls, however, it can be useful to be able to track your calls so that you can easily see which ad groups are helping you generate more revenue. With Google Voice for Workspace, you can easily set up an application that sends you a text message when one of your voicemail recordings is finished. Even if you're not using voice applications, this functionality is still available through a separate link on your web page.
Google
Voice for Workspace also offers a service called Google Hangouts. Google
Hangouts is a video and audio chat application that integrates with all of your
other Google services. You can record a video conference and invite others to
join via instant messenger, chat rooms, and Google Talk. Once everyone has
arrived, you can log into a video conference and have a long-tail meeting going
on at the same time, all from the same place.
There's
even more. If you are making international calls with your own long-tail
calling plan, you'll find that Google Voice will also allow you to integrate
your voicemail with your international numbers directory. You can set up a
voice-search feature that will allow you to search for your international phone
numbers in their directory. If there's a match, Google Voice will show you a
list of the applicable numbers, and you can select which one you'd like to
call. Even better, if you have multiple numbers associated with a single
voicemail account, you can update all of them with a single click!
Communication
can be quite challenging, whether you're talking to your employees directly or
your customers over the internet. If your telephone system isn't reliable
enough to handle a long-tail business, your voice may be too. Luckily, Google
Voice includes a number of features that make this easier. For example, you can
enable Google VoIP automatically so that your voice calls are sent as
VoIP-enabled phone calls rather than regular phone calls. If you have a high
speed internet connection, this can be an especially significant benefit since
phone lines often experience speed restrictions.
If
you're still working with a traditional POTS phone system, you'll also
appreciate how Google has made it easy to add contacts, assign tasks, and even
assign Google Voice numbers so that your employees all have their own unique
numbers. This makes it easy for you to get started with this new number
management feature without having to spend hours training your staff on how to
use it. As an added benefit, Google Voice allows you as a small business owner
to manage all of your phone numbers from a single point. This means that not
only will your employees be able to answer your calls from all of your new
numbers, but they'll be able to do so in any language. This makes international
voice conferencing very easy to arrange.
To
simplify what you need to know about how does google voice work, there's
actually a really simple process that you can follow. In the Google Voice
dashboard, you'll find a section where you can add a new contact or simply
insert a phone number into the box. Next, choose which service provider you'd
like to utilize for your calls. Google will then provide you with a number of
choices such as unlimited, local, toll-free, or even a blended number depending
on what your exact needs are. When you've chosen your options, you can then
select a setting that best meets your requirements.
Setting
up a VoIP service is fairly easy. There is no software to download or install.
Instead, all you need to do is plug in your phone number (you can use either
the area code or the seven-digit number) into the appropriate field and then
follow the prompts to complete your activation. In just a few minutes you'll be
able to place calls around the world using your Google Voice account. You can
even assign various voicemail settings so that you receive automated voicemails
in your email inbox. This means that once you set up a Google Voice account you
can take calls from anywhere in the world!
