In order to really take advantage of how Google Voice works, you will need to learn how you can get one phone number for all your business or personal lines. There are different ways that you can do this, but in general you will need to associate each line with just one number. You can assign each one a different area code, or you can connect all your lines to one auto dialer to receive all incoming calls. If you already have an existing account with your Google VoIP provider, the app will automatically connect your existing line to your Google Voice number, thus allowing you to receive incoming calls regardless of where the caller is calling from.

If you're a new user of Google Voice, you won't be able to start making calls right away - you first need to setup an account. The process is quite simple - just log into your Google Android app store and tap the "Create Account" link located on the upper right-hand corner of the page. On the next screen, you'll see the option to type in your existing phone number or choose a new phone number. When you have completed signing up, you will then be guided through the process of adding a few phone numbers and then selecting an area code before hitting "Sign Up."
